Who We Are

House of Haven is a nonprofit organization est. in 2019. Our mission is to provide a safe landing for homeless and at-promise youth while helping them build on the skill needed to make a successful transition into adulthood.

The problem

3.5 million Youth ages 18-25 experience some form of homelessness in the course of a year in the US; that is 1 out of every 10 youth. In 2018 LAHSA homeless youth count in LA County was over 3,000. Without the appropriate intervention these youth are at higher risk of entering the cycle of chronic homelessness.

House of Haven Approach

Provide a safe, supportive and secure environment for youth who find themselves in crisis and in need of a haven. By providing short-term shared housing along with the necessary support services.

Homeless Youth Statistics

  • LA County Youth homelessness increased by 24% from 3,164 in 2018 to 3,926 in 2019
  • 50 percent of homeless youth are unsheltered — sleeping outside, in a car, or someplace not meant for human habitation.
